Ansible & Configuration Management Services

We write, refactor, and operate Ansible playbooks and roles that keep your entire server fleet consistently configured, from OS hardening and package management to application deployment and automated patching.

Configuration drift is a slow-moving disaster. We stop it with Ansible roles that are tested, version-controlled, and executed from AWX with a full audit trail.

Pain points we fix

Servers are configured manually and drift over time

Manual configuration creates snowflake servers that are impossible to reproduce and fail in unexpected ways. Ansible helps keep servers consistent.

Playbooks are one developer away from being unmaintainable

We refactor playbooks into tested roles with documented variables, idempotency verification, and a consistent structure the whole team can follow.

No CI/CD for Ansible runs

We implement Ansible AWX or Ansible Automation Platform with role-based access, scheduled runs, and approval workflows for production changes.

Secrets are hardcoded in playbooks

We migrate secrets to Ansible Vault, HashiCorp Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager, with encrypted variables in source control and no plaintext credentials.

Configuration management gaps on hybrid infra

Ansible works on cloud VMs, on-premises servers, network devices, and containers. We cover your full estate with a consistent approach.

Patching and compliance are manual

We build automated patching playbooks with pre/post-checks, maintenance window scheduling, and audit reports for compliance evidence.

Our process

  1. 01

    Infrastructure and config management audit

We inventory your servers, identify manually configured systems, and document what is already in Ansible. We assess playbook quality and identify high-risk gaps.

  2. 02

    Role and playbook design

A role catalogue designed for your use cases. Variable naming conventions, tagging strategy, and inventory structure agreed before code is written.

  3. 03

    Implementation and testing

Roles written, tested with Molecule, and applied to non-production environments first. CI/CD pipeline added for linting and syntax checks on every PR.

  4. 04

    Automation platform and handover

AWX or AAP deployed for web-based execution, RBAC configured, schedules set for recurring tasks like patching, and team trained.

FAQ

Ansible vs Terraform, what is the difference?
Terraform provisions infrastructure (creates VMs, networks, databases). Ansible configures what is already running (installs packages, manages files, deploys applications). They are complementary, use both.
What is idempotency in Ansible?
An idempotent playbook can be run multiple times with the same result, it only makes changes if the current state differs from the desired state. Idempotency is critical for safe repeated runs.
Should I use Ansible or Kubernetes for application deployment?
Kubernetes for containerised workloads. Ansible for VM-based applications, legacy systems, and configuration management tasks that fall outside Kubernetes scope.
What is Ansible AWX?
AWX is the open-source version of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. It provides a web UI, RBAC, job scheduling, and an API for Ansible. It suits teams that need controlled, auditable Ansible execution.
How do you handle Windows servers with Ansible?
Ansible manages Windows via WinRM. We configure WinRM securely, use the win_* module library, and handle Windows-specific patching and configuration tasks.
Can you migrate us from Puppet or Chef to Ansible?
Yes. The approach is to map Puppet manifests or Chef cookbooks to Ansible roles, run both in parallel during migration, and retire the old tool once Ansible covers equivalent functionality.
